Im September 2024 lädt das Kunsthaus Kalk zu einer inklusiven Summer School in den Osthof der Hallen Kalk ein. Die Summer School ist ein Baustein im Projektentwicklungsprozess für das inklusive Kunsthaus. In drei parallelen Workshops werden Künstler*innen, Architekt*innen und andere Kreative mit und ohne Beeinträchtigung zusammen vor Ort an der Entwicklung einer neuen inklusiven Kunstakademie arbeiten. Die drei Workshopgruppen werden von Atelier Bow-Wow, dem inklusiven Künstler*innenkollektiv X-SÜD und raumlaborberlin geleitet.
Das Kunsthaus Kalk ist ein Modellprojekt, das KUBiST e.V. zusammen mit dem inklusiven Künstler*innen Kollektiv X-SÜD und raumlaborberlin entwickelt. Auf dem Osthof des ehemaligen Werksgelände der Hallen Kalk, hat sich eine Gruppe von Akteur*innen zusammengeschlossen, um einen neuen Produktions- und Begegnungsort für Kunst, Kultur, Bildung und Soziales aufzubauen. Das Kunsthaus Kalk ist Teil dieser Initiative zur gemeinwohlorientierten Quartiersentwicklung. Deutschlandweit gibt es noch keinen Ort für inklusive Künstler*innenausbildung. In einer inklusiven Akademie sehen wir das Potenzial, dass sich Künstler*innen mit und ohne Förderbedarf auf Augenhöhe begegnen können und über längere Zeiträume von den verschiedenen Perspektiven und Talenten der jeweils anderen profitieren.
Nachhaltigkeit / Die Summer School versteht sich zugleich als ein Labor für ressourcenschonendes und zirkuläres Bauen. Soweit es möglichst, sollen alle Umbauten und Möbel aus lokalen recycelten Materialien entwickelt und gebaut werden.
Am 14. September findet als Abschluss der Summer School ein Symposium und Nachbarschaftsfest zu inklusivem Leben und Kunstschaffen statt. In diesem Rahmen werden die Ergebnisse der Summer School getestet, präsentiert und diskutiert.
WIE KANN ICH MITMACHEN?
Wir suchen für die Summer School in erster Linie Personen aus den Bereichen Kunst und Architektur, aber jede*r die sich für die in den Workshops behandelten Themen interessieren und sich für eine inklusive Zukunft einsetzten möchten, ist willkommen, sich zu bewerben! Es ist uns wichtig, dass wir vor Ort mit genügend Zeit zusammenarbeiten. Alle Bewerber*innen sollen deshalb während der gesamten Workshops durchgehend vor Ort sein. Die Summer School-Programm ist kostenlos. Für die Anreise und Unterkunft sind die Teilnehmer*innen selbst verantwortlich.

DIE WORKSHOPS
OFFENER RAUM – GESCHÜTZTER RAUM _ ATELIER BOW-WOW
In diesem Kurs werden in gemischten Teams Situationen inklusiven kreativen Arbeitens und Lernens diskutiert und erprobt. Der Workshop beginnt mit einer Reihe von Raumexperimenten. Wie fühlen wir uns in einem bestimmten Raum und warum? Was ist ein guter Raum, um sich vollkommen in der Gegenwart zu fühlen? Was ist ein guter Raum, um gemeinsam künstlerisch zu arbeiten? In einer Vertiefungsphase sollen für die erprobten Situationen beispielhafte Strukturen und Möbel entworfenund gebaut werden. Abschließend werden diese neuen Situationen und Strukturen getestet und gegebenenfalls vervielfältigt.
IN KALK ANKOMMEN _ X-SÜD COLLECTIVE
Was kennzeichnet die Nachbarschaft um die Hallen Kalk. Wer lebt hier? Was passiert am Morgen, am Mittag, am Abend? Welche Ideale, Ideen, Initiativen und Probleme gibt es? Was wird gekocht, was wird gegessen? Wer spricht mit wem? Mit wem spricht keiner? Welche Erinnerungen, Träume und Erwartungen haben die Kalker*innen in Bezug auf die Hallen der ehemaligen Klöckner-Humbold-Deutz Fabrik? Einladen, besuchen, genau hingucken, kochen, gemeinsam Essen, gut zuhören, Karten zeichnen, Fragen stellen, Kontakt suchen, Grenzen und Verbindungen sichtbar machen.
ZUSAMMEN NEUE RÄUME BAUEN _ RAUMLABORBERLIN
Was für Räume braucht man in einem inklusiven Kunsthaus? Was ist schon da? Wie kann man die vorhandenen Räume und Qualitäten am Besten nutzen und transformieren? Welche Atmosphäre sollen sie haben? Welches ist der zentralste Raum? Wo kann man sich zurückziehen? In diesem Kurs wird es darum gehen die leerstehenden Räume des ehemaligen Verwaltungsgebäude der Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG zu erkunden und sie in einem Design- und Build Prozess mit einfachen Mittel für die Pioniernutzung des inklusiven Kunsthauses umzubauen.

In September 2024, Kunsthaus Kalk invites you to join an inclusive summer school at the Osthof of Hallen Kalk. The ZUKUNFTSARBEIT summer school is an important step in the project development process for the inclusive Kunsthaus. In three parallel workshops, artists, architects and other creative professionals with and without disabilities will work together on site on the development of a new inclusive art academy. The three workshop groups will be led by Atelier Bow-Wow, the inclusive artists’ collective X-SÜD and raumlaborberlin.
Kunsthaus Kalk is a model project that KUBiST e.V. has been developing since 2017 together with the inclusive artists‘ collective X-SÜD and raumlaborberlin. On the site of Hallen Kalk, the former factory premises of Klöckner-Humbold-Deutz AG, a group of cultural, socio-cultural and educational stakeholders have come together to form the „Verantwortungsgemeinschaft Osthof“ (Osthof Community of Responsibility) in order to create a new production and meeting place for art, culture, education and social issues. The Kunsthaus Kalk is part of this initiative for neighbourhood development oriented towards the common good.
There is no other place for inclusive artist training in Germany. In an inclusive academy, we see the potential for artists with and without special needs to meet as equals and benefit from each other’s different perspectives and talents over longer periods of time.
Sustainability / The Summer School also sees itself as a laboratory for resource-conserving and circular construction. As far as possible, all conversions and furniture will be developed and built from local recycled materials.
On September 14th, the Summer School will conclude with a symposium and neighbourhood festival on inclusive living and art. The results of the Summer School will be tested, presented and discussed at this event.
HOW TO JOIN?
We are primarily looking for people from the fields of art and architecture for the Summer School, but anyone who is interested in the topics covered in the workshops and wants to work towards an inclusive future is welcome to apply! It is important to us that we work together on site with sufficient time. All applicants should therefore be on site for the entire duration of the workshops. The Summer School programme is free of charge. Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation.
Selection of participants: As we only have limited capacities, we will select the participants via an open call. We would like to know from all applicants: Who you are? Why you would like to take part in the Summer School and what you would like to contribute to the project? To this end, each applicant should write a short text and send in a drawing or collage.

THE WORKSHOPS
OPEN SPACE – PROTECTED SPACE _ ATELIER BOW-WOW
In this course situations of inclusive creative work and learning are discussed and tested in mixed teams. The workshop begins with a series of spatial experiments. How do we feel in a particular space and why? What is a good space to feel fully in the present? What is a good space to work together artistically? In an in-depth phase exemplary structures and furniture will be designed and built for the tested situations. In a final step, these new settings and structures will be tested and, if desired, reproduced.
ARRIVING IN KALK _ X-SÜD COLLECTIVE
What characterises the neighbourhood around Hallen Kalk? Who lives here? What happens in the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening? What ideals, ideas, initiatives and problems are there? What is cooked, what is eaten? Who talks to whom? Who does nobody talk to? What memories, dreams and expectations do the people of Kalk have in relation to the former Klöckner-Hum- bold-Deutz halls? Invite, visit, take a close look, cook, eat together, listen carefully, draw maps, ask questions, look for connections, make borders and connections visible.
BUILDING TOGETHER _ RAUMLABORBERLIN
What kind of spaces are needed in an inclusive art academy? What is already there? How can the existing spaces and qualities be best utilised and transformed? What atmosphere should they have? What is the most central space? Where can you retreat? In this course the aim will be to explore the vacant rooms of the former administrative building of Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG and to convert them in a design and build process using simple means for the pioneering use of the inclusive Kunsthaus.
